The Rural Impact Canada Board is made up of industry leaders and experts who will help drive the strategic direction of our programs and scaling strategy across Canada. The Board is responsible for developing and managing our governance and strategic direction.

We develop and implement solutions that increase housing productivity in rural and small municipalities across Canada. Rural and small municipalities have untapped potential and will play a key role in addressing housing and affordability across Canada. When rural and small municipalities are provided with solutions to address current challenges and barriers that impact development, more housing can be built faster and cheaper, reducing the overall strain across the county. Our primary focus has been on utilizing Municipal Service Corporations (MSCs) as a tool to support water and wastewater servicing solutions and strategically plan for long-term development. Housing requires water and wastewater servicing and our MSC Program is delivering solutions to municipalities to unlock new housing units.

In 2024, Rural Impact Canada worked with 5 municipalities and 6 housing developers across Ontario and Atlantic Canada. To date our work has resulted in new housing units being submitted for building permit or progressing to building permit which would have otherwise not been possible. Our solution is helping create efficient land use and is delivering diverse housing options faster and for less. Looking ahead to 2025, our team is working to enable high efficient land use across Eastern Canada, have planning applications proceed without unnecessary delays, and hundreds of new housing units submitted for building permits.
